HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALEXIS  8yrs old!!

I can't believe my little girl is 8 years old already!  She had the biggest birthday party ever~!  I didn't think that it could get any bigger....well she proved me wrong.
It was interesting.
Overall, it was a great party.   There was 1 girl who came to her party that told Alexis that she only came for 1 reason, she wanted cake.   And that she didn't like Alexis.
It broke my heart.   My daughter is so sweet.

There are so many life experiences to go through.  And one of them is that there are going to be random people that will not get along with you.

My advice to her was:  Have lots of friends, be respectful to everyone, and follow the golden rule, treat others as you want to be treated.

It's so hard to let them go through life and all you want to do is protect them but sometimes you have to let them experience the good & the bad.   To prepare them for a lifetime of ups & downs.

I love you Alexis!

I got to attend Alexis' Halloween Celebration & Parade!   Alexis was dressed as a "Playful Kitty".
Next year I want to go all out with her costume.   She is only a kid once.

My wonderful husband and I

Labor Day weekend, Chris, Alexis & I went to the Lake Cabin at Chatcolet Lake.  We got to meet mom and dad up there.
It was a wonderful time.
For me, it brought back so many memories of when I was growing up.  Memories of going to the lake with some of my dearest friends!   My parents didn't have a tv or phone up there when we were kids.  They wanted us to have a good time AWAY from all that.

Alexis was trying to fish with her toes....she put bread between them and waited and waited.....

Alexis & Misty at Lentil Fest 2010

The last "full" day of daycare before School started, Maureen's took the kids up to Sunnyside for a picnic.   I went along and we all had a great time!

My dear with his license in hand finally.  AMEN!  It was hard enough getting it.  Whoever thought it would be so tough to get a WASHINGTON Driver's License.   In our town, they were failing ALL the asians.  Go Figure!  Oh well, 3 times a charm.
It was worth the wait I guess.   Mom & dad gave us a car the day Chris got his license....thank you so much Mom & dad.   What a true blessing!

I caught a little down time today....for some reason my legs were killin me from standing all day yesterday.  Then we had parent teacher meeting and silly me, I wore some heels to the meeting.

These muffins were a little darker as I was over at my moms house when the timer went off.  Ooops, that's ok, they turned out fine.

My squash loaf.....ah, I love being a stay at home mommy!   And I love having my wonderful hubby enjoy and appreciate things!   Makes me just love him even more!

The only muffin pan that I had was the jumbo muffin size...so if that tells you how many muffins I made!  They actually taste really yummy!

Part of the "yellow Squash" Batter mix.  I added chocolate chips to spice it up fro Alexis.

Ok, apparently this is yellow squash.   For whatever reason I thought it was zucchini..  I was planning to make "zucchini" bread.   I did find out you can make squash bread.   And that is what I did.  I had 2 huge squash!  I have used one whole one and came out with 72 servings of bread.  4 loaves, and 20 muffins!
What is up with me....feels like I am nesting or something.   I am not much of a cook but I am enjoying getting back into it.

Blackie, after Alexis gave him some "Catnip"!    Too funny, he is Knocked out!

My sweetie

Almost Halloween!!!!

Worked on a couple headbands, too!  Fun fun!

This one is pretty cute....I'd love to wear them myself!  :)  I am a total girlie girl, love to dress up and wear sparkle & glam!   However, I love to wear my fave, flannel pj's and a nice t-shirt!

One of the 1st few bows I made....its ok, looks better after I ironed it.   I got this ribbon from my scrap-booking collection!

My friend, Dore' taught me how to make hair bows and it is so fun!  Thanks Dore'.   I can't wait to get more ribbon.

I am so proud of Alexis.  She has been  an amazing daughter to raise.   I am so proud of her.    And honored to be her mommy!

Alexis' favorite thing to eat is the Fruit & walnut Salad at McD's.  At least it is healthy!  She rarely eats french fries.

We had Open House at Franklin August 24th.   Alexis will be in the 2nd grade.  Hard to believe.  She loves school and is great at it.

I think I was 4 or 5 here.....This is at our lake cabin.  I used to call it home when I was little!

This is the picture that Alexis' cousins thought was her.
Alexis told me, wow, that does look like me, mom!

This is my First grade photo!  I just love the plaid button up!

So, while aunt Mary was here for her visit, we went thru all our old pictures.  I got all my baby photos and childhood photos.
I've been having a great time looking at them all.
Alexis' cousin keeps saying; what are you doing in this photo, Alexis....She says; thats not me, its my mom!

Organically grown Squash from my brother's garden!   YUMMMM!!

Out at Chris' house on the farm.   Alexis is walking with Ike.  We got to pick Rasberries, squash that was HUGE!
It is always so nice to go out to the farm back to the simple things in life!

Alexis was a little apprehensive getting on the horse herself but once she did,  she had a nice ride.

Out at the farm.....Alexis and Catalina walking with Emma and Sundrop over by the house.   I braided the girls hair and they looked sooooo cute!

My husband got his second job working at Mcdonald's.....He is the best hubby ever, working 2 jobs and sometimes 18 hours straight just so I can stay home with Alexis full time!
Chris, Alexis and I love you very much!  You are the best husband ever!

Alexis got to ride Emma's horse, Sundrop!   Thanks Emma
